How to Knit '1 over 1' Cables

1/1 LC, 1/1 RC, 1/1 LPC & 1/1 RPC Demonstrations

The following video tutorial shows you how to knit '1 over 1' cables, which are created when you cross one stitch over another stitch to produce a narrow line cable (1 stitch wide).

I will demonstrate 4 different 1/1 cables in the video, including purl crosses which is where a knit stitch is crossed over a purl stitch. Purl crosses are therefore usually formed on a reverse stockinette stitch background, because in this stitch it's the purl stitches that are on the right side of the knitting.

These cables are some of the most simple, and because they're so narrow you may actually find it quicker and less awkward to make them without a cable needle.
