Knitting with Metal Scales
Add Some Fun & Texture to your Knitting
Adding metal (or plastic) 'scales' to your knitting is a fun thing to try and can be used to replicate armour, or replicate animal scales e.g. dragons, mermaids, fish, armadillos...and so on.
Scales are usually added to a base of stockinette stitch, and I'll show you how to add them to both knit and purl rows. This is a quick tutorial to show you the method; how you use the scales is up to you :)
I bought my scales off the Bead Sisters jewellery website, but Ebay is also an option.
